History

Teen & Family Services was founded in May 2001 by Steve McAllister & George Youngblood, who shared a vision of addressing adolecsent substance abuse by creating a community of support for families. This vision included combining the strengths of a youth group with proven counseling aproaches to serve the needs of the entire family.

This approach has proven successful beyond what was ever anticipated! Over the past two and a half years over ninety percent of graduates have remained drug and alcohol free. Over seventy percent of graduates over the age of eighteen are currently enrolled in college. Far beyond the goal of chemical abstinence, families report a significant improvement in functioning in a wide range of areas including family communication, emotional maturity, social interaction and long-term goal setting.

Teen & Family services has been involved in church youth group education, school support groups and our staff currently hold positions on the advisory committee for Safe & Drug Free School programs for local school districts.
